There is nothing sweeter than the smell of orange blossoms. It wasn't until I moved here and was lucky enough to have an orange tree in my own front yard that I realized that it takes one full year from the time the blossom provides its sweet scent until the orange is ripe and ready to eat. However, our tree is now covered with both blossoms and oranges.
A branch loaded with oranges ready to pick
Oranges and blossoms on the same branch.
Lovely orange blossoms. They are pure white and waxy in appearance but the important thing is the fragrance which permeates the whole yard.

Pretty, pretty, pretty! I can almost smell them!
We had a Meyer lemon tree before we moved; we gave it to Jeff's parents when we left and it now resides happily in Florida (happier than it was in Wisconsin, I'm sure!) I will never forget the aroma that wafted all around our front entry when it was in bloom...
Hugs!
What a beautiful tree. We don't get long enough summers to grow oranges out of doors, so I have to make do with Mock Orange. Same divine scent, but no fruit :(
